Rhode Island a favor de la marihuana medicinal
El Comité de la Magistratura del Senado de Rhode Island aceptó el 19 de mayo una propuesta sobre cannabis medicinal por 9 votas a 2. La propuesta, que ahora tiene que aprobar por votación todo el Senado, protegería a los pacientes que usan marihuana con fines médicos, así como a sus cuidadores, de la amenaza de arresto y encarcelación. Los enfermos autorizados a utilizar cannabis terapéutico obtendrían un carné especial de identificación con su nombre y el de su cuidador principal y tendrían la autorización para tener hasta 12 plantas y 2’5 onzas (70 gramos) de cannabis sin el peligro de ser arrestados. En la Cámara de Representantes se discutirá una proposición similar. Es una buena oportunidad para que ambas propuestas sean aceptadas en las dos Cámaras.
